About

The Elbert County Libraries Foundation is now the Pines & Plains Libraries Foundation to reflect the name change the community voted on for the Library District.

The Pines & Plains Libraries Foundation was established as a Colorado non-profit corporation in 2009 for charitable and educational purposes to accumulate funding for the next chapter of the Pines & Plains Library District’s needs. In early 2010 it applied to the Internal Revenue Service for tax exempt status under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and in July 2010 the foundation received IRS approval as a tax exempt non-profit organization under IRS 501(c)3.

Because the organization is comprised primarily of volunteers, its operating expenses are extremely low and thus close to 100% of revenues from donations and fund raising activities will directly support the Pines & Plains Library District.Elizabeth Library Exterior
